Best Of Wasa

In classic form upon completion of the Wasa Lake remodel and addition Barnabas was ready to be off site and the client was eager to move in. As a result the business manager never got her glorious end of project photos. I’ve been promised them for when Barnabas goes back out to renovate the garage and guest quarters. In the mean time I’m closing Wasa Lake renovations promotion with the best “as close to finished” photos that I can gather from over the course of the project.

Cross your fingers for me and hopefully I will get some good all finished photos in the Fall

Promise Less, Deliver More – Expect Professionalism

Barnabas looked at a job yesterday and the client was frustrated with the previous contractor because they took two weeks to come out (with promises to come within a couple of days) and then they took another two weeks to deliver a quote.

While it is common to be too busy to come out straight away Barnabas never promises what he can not deliver. Being too busy can be a sign of a good contractor that is focused on current projects and not trying to get every job that comes across his plate. All the same it is not acceptable to promise a site visit tomorrow and then take two weeks to show up.

The other complaint was the detail in the quote. The quote said “Stairs” and a total amount. A good contractor should provide detail in a quote to avoid discrepancy should the job scope change – which it often does (both client requested changes and technical requirements uncovered in construction).

Hire carefully and expect professionalism. Many contractors can deliver both quality workmanship and excellent customer service. Expect both and avoid contractors that leave the impression of not respecting your time.

PS. We do build exterior stairs. A year with a stair building company refined Barnabas ability to build quality stairs and efficiently so is therefore able to be competitive.

A Lot Happened – Wasa Lake Renovation

I’ve compiled photos from over the past couple of months of the Wasa Lake renovation. After a start in mid September it is a full wrap just in time for the Summer.

As per my previous post we were completely off-line and focusing on project completion but also our move to Kelowna BC. I apologize for the gap in posting the project in progress. Here is what’s been happening:

Stay tuned for early next week post when I will compile the best of the finished photos and remember Barnabas is now in Kelowna and ready to service the area for decks, fences, custom wood work, renovation, additions and finish carpentry projects.
